It’s Thursday so that means it will be FINE WINE THURSDAY at Good Brothers Wine Bar on Northumberland Street. Every Thursday at 5pm Graeme Sutherland opens a new wine for customers to try by the glass.

Macarons for Barbie

When you go to see the new Barbie movie pay attention and try to spot the macarons. There are five flavours and several different colours, including the obvious pink.

And the exciting thing is that they all come from Edinburgh based Mademoiselle Macaron.

Former councillor to face disciplinary body

The Standards Commission for Scotland have called former councillor John McLellan before them in October this year, following allegations of what was described as “unacceptable behaviour” before he stood down. Mr McLellan who is also Director of the Newspaper Society and a journalist and former editor, denies all allegations against him saying he will clear his name.

Sir Grayson Perry

Sir Grayson will be in town today at the press launch of the biggest exhibition of his work ever which will be staged at the National Galleries of Scotland.

Smash Hits which opens on Saturday and will run until 12 November. Perry makes art in an accessible and often funny way. He likes to take on big issues which are universally human – masculinity, sexuality, class, religion, politics and more.
