A police investigation is underway after the body of a man was found in a wooded area on Old Dalkeith Road near the Royal Infirmary around 1pm yesterday afternoon.
The scene was cordoned off and police say that the body has yet to be identified.
The death is being currently treated as ‘unexplained’.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Saturday, 22 August, the body of a man was found in a wooded area near Old Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.”
The Craigmillar Recycling centre on Old Dalkeith Road will be closed to the public until Tuesday, with a review to take place on Monday afternoon.
