Rangers’ winger Glenn Middleton has joined Hibs on a season long loan.

The 19-year-old claimed five goals and five assists including a strike in the Europa League for Rangers last season after joining the club from Norwich City where he trained alongside Steven Whittaker.

The teenager had alternative offers from within Britain and further afield but was determined to complete a move to Easter Road.

A versatile attacking talent, he has featured for Scotland at every age group up to and including the Under-21s alongside the likes of Fraser Murray, Oli Shaw, Ryan Porteous and Stevie Mallan.

Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom said: “I think our supporters will enjoy watching Glenn play.

“He’s direct, quick and will add different qualities to the squad.

“From our conversations he’s clearly desperate to play for this club.”

Middleton, who will wear the number 19 shirt, added: “I’m really pleased to have got everything sorted and I just can’t wait to get started.

“I know I’ll need to work hard to make a good impression and that Paul has a lot of good players to choose from, but I’d love to be involved on Saturday against Greenock Morton.”
