Thomas Agyepong has been called up to the Ghana squad for their upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

The on-loan winger has made an impact in recent weeks for Hibs, scoring his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win over Dundee before starting for the first time against St Mirren on Saturday.

That form has been rewarded with an international recall, where he’ll be hoping to add to his five caps in the double header.

The Black Stars host Sierra Leone on 11 October, with the reverse fixture four days later.

The four countries in Group F are level on points after two matches, with Ghana, Sierra Leone, Kenya and Ethiopia all having won one and lost one.

He will join Andy Yiadom (Reading) Daniel Amartey (Leicester City) and Christian Atsu (Newcastle United) who also ply their trade in the UK.

John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter.
