James Sarjeant is desperate to dent Edinburgh Monarchs’ SGB Championship play-off hopes on Tuesday (7.30pm).

Glasgow Tigers and Edinburgh are both chasing a top-four place and only one team is likely to make it.

Currently, Edinburgh are third with 35 points from 18 fixtures while fourth-placed Glasgow have 33 points from 17 outings.

Sarjeant said: “We were in the play-offs against Edinburgh three seasons ago.
“I can remember being out on parade for those matches, everything went dark and we had a spotlight on us, it was amazing.”

And he added: “Edinburgh are going well but it’s at our track and we need to show them who is boss.”

Glasgow have called in Connor Mountain to guest at Reserve in place of crocked Nathan Greaves.

Joel Andersson is counted out of Monarchs line-up with two broken bones.
Sheffield Tigers’ American racer Broc Nicol deputises.

And Victor Palovaara has a late fitness check on a hand injury before deciding if he will ride.

Meanwhile, Berwick Bandits now only have a slim chance of making the end-of-season play-offs.

They lost 47-43 at pace-setting Peterborough Panthers on Sunday and team manager Scott Courtney said: “We gave Peterborough something to get their teeth in to.

“Five of our guys took at least one win and the other two rode so hard. We can still hold our heads up and be proud.”
