Emerson Hyndman is keen to take the positives from Hibs’ midweek penalties defeat against Aberdeen particularly the amount of chances created against one of the most organised teams in Scotland.
It was the American international’s first full 90 minutes of action and his performance impressed the fans, testing Dons’ keeper Joe Lewis on two occasions.
He now looks to secure a regular starting place in Neil Lennon’s team as Hibs look to climb the table.
Hyndman told Hibernian TV: “A positive from the match on Tuesday is the amount of chances that we created and the number of opportunities we had against a good team.
“It is really tough to break through a team like Aberdeen but we cut them open quite often, but we just weren’t able to put the finishing touch on the end of it.
“It is something we will work on and hopefully in the next match it will work out in our favour.”
“I felt alright. I felt sharp. It’s not easy coming off the back of a year not playing, so I’m trying to adapt as quick as I can and getting back up to match fitness and everything like that.
“But yeah, I felt good in the game. Being with the lads over the period of time that I’ve been here has been really helpful and I’m settling in with them and learning how they play.
“It felt good to get the 90 minutes in the last game and I hope to get more minutes soon.”
“No game is easy and I expect a tough game against St Mirren, just like I do with any other game. The team has prepared well on the back of a disappointing result. We’re definitely looking to put it right.
“We are carrying confidence as well knowing that we played well on Tuesday but just didn’t get what we wanted and we’re in good shape.”
