This Is Caledonian Soul Announces Full Line Up

Blue Rose Code

What is Caledonian Soul? In Blue Rose Code Presents ‘This Is Caledonian Soul’ – produced in association with Made In Scotland – Ross Wilson (aka Blue Rose Code) will, with the help of a 14-piece band and some very special guests, attempt to answer this question by offering his unique take on generations of cult, iconic and classic Scots song.

Average White Band original member, Hamish Stuart, triple BRIT award winner Eddi Reader and the incredibly rare talent that is Duke Special will join Blue Rose Code for this event.

Wilson said:  “To share a stage with Hamish, Eddi and Duke for a night of soul will be nothing short of mesmerising; it is going to be one very warm and heartfelt evening and I have some surprises on the night…”

The Water of Leith – Blue Rose Code’s most recent release – was a BBC Radio Scotland and The Skinny magazine’s Album of the Year. Both album and live appearances have garnered plaudits from audiences and critics alike for Wilson’s intelligent, passionate and lyrical mix of folk, jazz and yes, Caledonian Soul.

Following a fruitful summer where Blue Rose Code were invited to play at BBC Radio 2’s Biggest Weekend, enjoyed a series of successful festival appearances (including Perth’s Southern Fried) and sold out two nights at Glasgow’s Cottiers Theatre, the band slot in this one-off Edinburgh Festival show before undertaking 24 shows as special guests of Deacon Blue on their 30th anniversary ‘To Be Here Someday’ UK tour in November and December.

*Made in Scotland is a curated showcase of high quality performance from Scotland at the world’s largest arts festival, made possible by support from the Scottish Government’s Expo Fund. It is a partnership between the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, the Federation of Scottish Theatre, the Scottish Music Centre and Creative Scotland.
