Blogger @DanFlyingSolo to explore the World’s Cultural Capital in Edinburgh Festivals First
Edinburgh is one of the most vibrant stages for global entertainment, an extraordinary place with eleven major festivals throughout the year. This August, in a first time initiative, blogger Dan James (@DanFlyingSolo) will visit Edinburgh to have the experience of a lifetime as he explores the Festival City from his perspective.
Dan will be the festivals’ blogger in residence for the month – uncovering a plethora of events, exhibitions, performances and special behind the scenes insights, which can be followed on the hashtag #DansFestivalCity.
A renowned writer, photographer and videographer, Dan is well established as one of Lonely Planet’s ‘trailblazers’. He has collaborated with the likes of Skyscanner, Matador Network and National Geographic.
Dan said: “I can’t wait to come back to one of my favourite cities in the world to explore all the festivals have to offer during the buzzing month of August. There’s always something new to experience, from innovative artistic projects to emerging talent and dazzling spectacles of live performance.”

In Edinburgh this August, Dan will experience FIVE of Edinburgh’s eleven extraordinary festivals: Edinburgh Art Festival (26 July-26 August), Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (both 3-27 August), The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (3-25 August) and the Edinburgh International Book Festival (11-27 August).
