Championship Shield: Berwick Bandits 45, Workington Comets 45

Dany Gappmaier top scored with 12 points as Berwick Bandits drew 45-45 with Workington Comets in the Championship Shield in the Borders.

Ty Proctor was best for Comets with 13 points in a see-saw clash in which both sides had the lead.

The result is identical to the draw at Workington in Friday’s Championship Shield clash.

And Scott Courtney, Bandits’ team manager, said: “Can’t keep us apart can you?

“Second draw between the sides in 24 hours, and I guess to use that old speedway cliché, its the fairest result.

“It also means we were THAT close to two wins, but we have the league to meet the Comets twice more and this time take the wins.
