Hearts will begin the 2017/18 Ladbrokes Premiership season with a trip to League Champions Celtic. The game is presently scheduled for Saturday 5th August but the game is likely to be subject to live television coverage. Confirmation of the date and kick-off time will be confirmed in due course.
Tynecastle is, of course, undergoing the construction of a new main stand and Hearts have asked the SPFL that they be given no home fixtures prior to the scheduled opening of the new stand – Saturday 9th September. However, it is understood the computer programme used for scheduling the fixtures could not take this into account. As things stand, Hearts have two homes games – against Kilmarnock on 12th August and Motherwell on 26th August – but fans are asked to note these will not take place at Tynecastle with the likelihood being Hearts will travel to Rugby Park and Fir Park on the dates concerned.
As they did when the last match was played at Tynecastle in front of the old stand, Aberdeen will be Hearts opponents when the new main stand is due to open on 9th September.
Hearts and Hibernian will meet each other on two midweek occasions. The first Edinburgh derby of the season will be at Easter Road on October 25th, while the first Edinburgh derby at the new-look Tynecastle Park will be on December 27th.
