A former Lothian and Borders Police officer has been appointed as assistant chief constable with Lincolnshire Police.

Chief Superintendent Craig Naylor will join the force later this month.

Mr Naylor is currently the head of Specialist Services at Police Scotland, and has previously led on organisational development and corporate governance.

Prior to the formation of Police Scotland in 2013, he spent a significant amount of his career in the Criminal Investigation Department of Lothian and Borders Police.

Mr Naylor was also responsible for Professional Standards and the Counter Corruption Department, before returning to uniform duties as deputy commander for the City of Edinburgh Policing Division.

Chief Constable Bill Skelly, also a former Lothian and Borders officer, who recently joined Lincolnshire Police from Devon and Cornwall, said: “I am pleased Craig is joining the team.

“He is an officer of a very high calibre and he will bring a huge amount of experience and expertise in developing a way forward for the force.”

John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
