Berwick’s new line-up will go to the tapes for the first time on Saturday.

Australian World Cup rider Nick Morris, the club’s new No 1, his countryman, Jye Etheridge, who finished the last season season strongly for Redcar Bears, and 30-year-old former moto-cross star Lee Payne will all ride against Ipswich Witches.

They were all expected to make their debuts at Ipswich on Thursday but the weather put paid to that.

Bandits co-promoter Scott Courtney said that things had to change.

The fans, he said, deserve some reward for their loyalty and
Courtney added that it was not too late to make a big difference this season.

And he added: “We will be doing everything we can to claim league points on Saturday.”

Tapes go up at 7pm
