Hibs’ midfielder is looking forward to Wednesday night’s game against promotion rivals Morton at Easter Road after returning from international duty with Scotland.

A victory would all but ensure a return to the top flight as Hibs would move 13 point ahead of Jim Duffy’s side with only six games remaining.

Hibs managed to secure a valuable victory against Falkirk in McGinn’s absence on Saturday which has left them within touching distance of the Championship title.

Supporters are hoping that the title can be secured ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

After his return to Easter Road, McGinn told Hibernian Media:“I’m thoroughly looking forward to getting back out in a Hibs jersey now and the game against Morton.

“I didn’t play a lot during my time with Scotland, so I am ready to come back in. I know it will be a tough game, and the squad do as well, but we know what the reward is at the end of the season and we know getting three points will be huge moving forward.

“It will be a tough tie, Morton have been very good this season, but when we’re at our best, we can take on anybody and hopefully we can show that on Wednesday.”

The midfielder won his third cap against Canada at Easter Road then was on the bench for Scotland’s 1-0 win over Slovenia at Hampden on Sunday night.

He continued: “It is another massive honour to have got my third cap and it was made really special by getting it under the lights at Easter Road.

“All the boys from the club were there and supporting which was brilliant for me, and all my family and friends as well which was great.

“It was strange walking into Easter Road and not being a Hibs player, but it was a nice feeling and made me feel at home.

“It’s another proud moment, it’s disappointing that we didn’t get the win, but it is a moment I’ll always remember about my career for a long time.”

“On Saturday it was disappointing not to be involved because I want to play in every game, but I was told that I was needed for Sunday’s big game for Scotland which was great. It was brilliant to watch the game on Hibs TV and see Keatsy pop up with the winner.

“I was over the moon that we got a massive result and then it was even better when Scotland followed it up and got a result on the Sunday against Slovenia.

“The ambition of everyone in the Scotland squad is to qualify for the World Cup and I am privileged to be a part of that.

“I feel as if it is good for myself and for the club. I feel as if getting the recognition and going away with Scotland is making me a better player.

“Looking further down the line it is a huge dream to play at a World Cup. That win against Slovenia keeps us in contention for a play-off spot. There are massive games to come and I hope I’m in contention for those matches and the England game in June.
