Hibs are supporting the latest fan-led foodbank collection, which will take place at the home match between Hibernian and Raith Rovers tomorrow.
Organised by Edinburgh Helping Hands, donations will be collected around the ground from 10am until kick-off. All food collected will be distributed to local causes in Edinburgh.
Supporters are asked to donate non-perishable items such as:
-tins of fruit
-tins of vegetables
-sugar
-UHT milk
-cartons of fruit juice
-tins of custard
-tins of creamed rice
-coffee
Fans who are unable to make the game but still wish to contribute you can hand in donations to the West Stand reception, or donate by visiting justgiving.com/crowdfunding/edinburghhelpinghands.
Hibernian defender Paul Hanlon is backing the campaign and hopes that people are able to donate to the cause and help people who are less fortunate to have an more enjoyable Christmas time.
Paul said: “Anyone that can help to donate to this cause would be great. I remember that it has happened every year for as far back as I can remember.
“The work that’s done is great to help people that maybe aren’t as fortunate as ourselves. That goes a long way to making people feel happy at Christmas that maybe don’t have as much.”
A club spokesperson said: ” Supporters have made a tremendous difference over the past two years through foodbank donations, and we hope you can support the efforts again in 2016.”
