Edinburgh and Lothians MSPs supported Rob Shorthouse yesterday as he trained to take part in a marathon this Christmas Day.
Comms guru Shorthouse is running the marathon for MND Scotland to help Gordon Aikman’s Fightback campaign. Yesterday he was joined by Ben Macpherson, Kezia Dugdale, Alex Cole-Hamilton and Ruth Davidson who all gave their support for the cause.
Gordon Aikman was there to put them through their paces as they all ran a mile together to raise awareness of the fundraising.
Commenting, Edinburgh Northern and Leith MSP, Ben Macpherson said: “It’s inspiring that Rob is doing such a great thing on Christmas Day, to raise money for tackling motor neurone disease as well as awareness of MND Scotland’s remarkable work and services they offer.
“It was great to join fellow Edinburgh MSPs to support Rob and this important cause. I wish Rob all the best for the run on the day.
“Working together like this, we can continue to improve care and provide better support for people living with MND.”
