Emergency services attended the scene of a collision between  a car and a lorry near the Forth Road Bridge last night.

The collision happened around 9.15pm on the A90 northbound at the Ferrytoll junction and paramedics treated two people for injuries at the scene while a man was trapped in his vehicle.

Fire crews used cutting equipment to free him and he was taken to hospital with a leg injury.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The first ambulance arrived within two minutes of the incident coming in to our Edinburgh control.

“After a quick assessment they requested immediate assistance of two further ambulances and our special operations response team.

“They treated two people for injuries who were experiencing back pain and a third man was taken to hospital with a leg injury.”
