Some extra special spectators will be cheering on Hibs on Sunday against Dundee United at Easter Road.
The DniproKids charity, established by Hibernian fans to support the work of orphanages in the Ukrainian city following the Club’s European clash with Dnipropetrovsk more than ten years ago, is hosting 20 youngsters who have lost fathers in the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine in partnership with the Children of War charity. The youngsters, aged 9-16, will enjoy a holiday in Scotland as respite from the situation at home.
Hibernian FC is delighted to support the fantastic work of DniproKids. Leeannn Dempster, Chief Executive, said: “We were only too happy to provide tickets for the match. We’re also hosting the youngsters on their arrival in Scotland, and providing them with breakfast at the stadium, to help out.
“It’s inspiration work carried out by a group of Hibernian supporters, and reflects huge credit on the supporters. I know there is a bucket collection in aid of the charity taking place also, and I’d urge all supporters who can to get behind it.”
