Bowhill House has lunched a ‘Selkirkshire Secret Gems Bus Tour’ to allow visitors from the capital the opportunity to explore the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Selkirk and surrounding attraction with a small group and experienced local guides.
Four tours are planned on every Friday in August and visitors will be picked up at 10.45am from Galashiels Transport Interchange railway station before being transported to Bowhill House and Country Estate.
The house will be opened for the occasion and guided tours will be available allowing visitors wo see masterpieces by Canaletto, Gainsborough and Reynolds as well as the Smoking Room which is on display to the public for the first time in 2016.
Alternatively, visitors could enjoy the space and tranquillity of one of the Estate’s waymarked walking trails.
At 1.00pm the bus will take the visitors to Selkirk town centre to have lunch or coffee in one of the local cafes.
Halliwell’s House Museum and Walter Scott’s Courtroom are also available to view.
The final stop of the tour will be at Lochcarron of Scotland’s Visitor’s Centre, the world’s largest manufacturer of tartan.
The bus returns to the Interchange at 4.00pm.
Advanced booking is required and there will be a maximum of 15 persons per tour.
