An investigation is underway following a collision involving a police car on its way to an emergency this morning.
The female driver of the other vehicle involved, a Skoa Citigo, had to be freed from her car by firefighters.
The collision happened at around 8.35am at the junction with Niddrie Mains Road and Craigmillar Castle Road.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “While responding to an emergency call, a marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with another car on Niddrie Mains Road at around 8.35 a.m. on Tuesday 14th June.
“As a result, the Skoda Citigo overturned onto its side requiring the attendance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Road Policing Officers are now conducting inquiries at the scene to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision.”
