The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland is a big deal, and apparently has better jewellery than the First Minister, according to the First Minister herself.
A programme airing tonight on BBC ALBA will show what the Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Angus Morrison, has done since his appointment last year. The office is 454 years old and the appointment may seem a ceremonial one, but the programme will the Moderator moving from parish minister into the high-profile role.
Rt Rev Dr Morrison is the first Gaelic-speaking Moderator in 50 years. He was born in Glencoe and then lived in Oban.
