Police have confirmed the identity of an elderly woman who died following a road collision in Morningside as Moira McKeeman from Edinburgh.
The 86-year-old sustained fatal injuries after she was involved in a collision with a bin lorry on Morningside Road on Sunday 17th April.
Inquiries are continuing to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident and in particular, officers are keen to trace a man standing outside Stafanos chip shop who was left visibly upset and a man who crossed the same stretch of road just prior to the incident.
In addition, police now believe an elderly couple were standing outside the Brother Barbers around the time of the collision and these individuals are also asked to come forward. The woman was wearing a fur hat.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.
The family of Moira McKeeman have now requested that their privacy is respected while they grieve.
