Motorists are advised that the A92 is currently closed in both directions at the Lochgelly Interchange.
This follows a collision between a van pulling a trailer and a car stopped in standing traffic just before the turn off to the B9149 at around 9.35 a.m.
As a result the van has caught fire and the East and Westbound carriageways are closed.
No one has been injured, however the public are advised to use alternative routes while emergency services are in attendance.
The road is expected to be closed for at least three hours and local diversions have been put in place.
