Police have made a fresh appeal for assistance from the public as their inquiries to trace Matthew Elmer continue.
The 23-year-old was last seen in Poplar Grove at around 6 p.m.on Saturday 13th February but has not returned home, nor has he been in contact with friends or family since this time.
Local officers have carried out extensive search activity throughout West Lothian and have utilised various specialist resources from Police Scotland including the Air Support Unit, Dog Unit and specially trained search teams.
Volunteer partner agencies including the Borders Mountain Rescue Team and Borders Water Rescue have also provided vital assistance during these searches, while Matthew’s friends have set up a special Facebook page to appeal for information and have carried out their own efforts in a bid to find him.
Unfortunately at this time no evidence has been found to establish Matthew’s current whereabouts and Livingston residents are being urged to assist with the search operation.
Members of the community within Craigshill, Dedridge, Pumpherston, Uphall Station and Mid Calder are asked to check their gardens, sheds and other outbuildings in case Matthew has taken shelter in any of these locations.
In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to this inquiry should also come forward.
Sergeant Neill McLeman from Livingston Police Station said: “I would first of all like to thank our communities within West Lothian and the wider public for their continued support and assistance as we continue with our efforts to trace Matthew.
“Despite the significant level of search activity carried out by police, partners and Matthew’s family and friends, he has not yet been found and we obviously grow more and more concerned for his welfare as time goes on.
“Matthew knows the Livingston area well and so I would ask residents throughout the region to check the external areas of their properties and contact us immediately should they find anything that may be pertinent to this investigation.
“Similarly, anyone with any further information as to where Matthew may be should also get in touch.”
