Police have renewed their appeal for help to trace a missing teenage boy.
Jye Slater was last seen in the Moredun area of the city at around 3.50pm on Wednesday 6th January but has since failed to return home.
Local officers are carrying out various lines of inquiry in an effort to trace the 14-year-old and believe he may be situated somewhere in the north of the city.
He is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall with a slim build, short dark hair and was wearing navy Adidas cotton jogging bottoms, a navy Adidas hooded top and navy Nike Air Max trainers.
Anyone who has seen Jye or knows anything about his whereabouts is asked to come forward.
Inspector Douglas Moran from Craigmillar Police Station said: “Given the passage of time our concern for Jye is growing by the day.
“He frequently visits the Drylaw, Muirhouse and Pilton areas and there is a strong possibility that he has returned to this part of the city.
“I ask anyone who has seen Jye to please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer.
