Police are appealing for witnesses after six marked private hire taxis and one black cab were vandalised in the Gorgie area of the city.
The incidents happened around 5am on Monday 7th December in Wheatfiield Road, Wardlaw Street, Wardlaw Terrace, and Westfield Road.
All of the vehicles had their windows smashed and officers are carrying out local inquiries to establish if these offences are linked.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
Constable Grant Robertson of Wester Hailes Community Team said: “Taxis and private hire vehicles have clearly been targeted on this occasion and thankfully in the main there was nothing of value within them.
“We are hoping that local residents or anyone who was within the area early on Monday 7th December remembers seeing something suspicious.
“I’d also like to advise all motorists not leave anything of value in their cars.”
Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
