Police are investigating following a commercial housebreaking at a DIY store in Warriston Road which took place overnight between Tuesday, October 27, and Wednesday, October 28 when unknown persons broke into the property and stole a five-figure-sum of DIY materials.
Much damage was caused to the building as a result of the break-in. Several items of property were subsequently recovered on a walkway near to Warriston Road and St Mark’s Bridge.
Police are now investigating and are appealing for witnesses.
Officers also believe a vehicle may have been used to remove the property, although this is yet to be confirmed.
Police Constable Mark Barrie said: “This was a high value break-in, which was resulted in the theft of a several luxury items.
“We are now appealing for any information regarding this incident and believe a vehicle may have been used to remove the property. With this in mind, officers are keen to hear from dog walkers and people in neighbouring properties who may have seen an unusual vehicle in Warriston Road.
“Anyone who saw any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area on Tuesday night is asked to contact us immediately.”
