The Hibernian Development Squad were eliminated from the Little Big Shot Youth Cup after losing 4-1 to Dundee at Dens Park yesterday.
Ben Priest opened the scoring for the hosts then Kyle Clark added a second. Jesse Curran made it 3-0 just before the break then Ryan Gemmell secured the win in the 54th minute.
Oli Shaw pulled one back for the visitors.
After the game Hibs Development Squad Coach Joe McBride told the club website:
“In the first half I thought we were the better team without creating many chances up until Dundee scored and then we had a spell where we conceded three in quick succession – which is absolutely criminal and you can’t do it.
“In the second half we came out and had a go and went a bit longer and played it forward, but you can’t give teams a three goal head-start and expect to come back.”
Hibernian Development Squad: Brennan, Dunsmore, Porteous, Waugh, Stirling, Scott (Donaldson, 60), Martin (Breen, 56), Smith (Murray, 45), Watson, Duthie, Shaw. Unused substitute: Costello.
