Three men have been arrested and charged with a number of housebreaking offences in the Edinburgh area.
Two men, aged 20 and 21, have been arrested in connection with five domestic housebreakings across the city. They were arrested yesterday (Wednesday, September 9) and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday, September 10).
A 25-year-old man has also been arrested and charged in connection with three commercial housebreakings in the Fountainbridge area, which occurred between Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 22. He was arrested yesterday and will also appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Superintendent Alan Porte said: “Tackling both domestic and commercial housebreaking remains a top priority for police in Edinburgh Division. It is unacceptable that some people in our community commit these offences, clearly showing no respect for the property of others.
We are continuing to actively target those responsible and bring them to justice. However we continue to need public support in order to combat this problem. If you would like information to help safeguard your home and belongings then please visit www.scotland.police.uk.”
