Police executed three search warrants at properties in the Waterfront Park and Colonsay View areas on Wednesday 9 September.

Three firearms along with ammunition and a five-figure sum of money were recovered from the properties in Colonsay View.

A 26-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday 10th September.

Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “This recovery is significant and we will continue to focus our efforts on tackling serious and organised crime, including the criminal possession and use of firearms.

“The removal of these lethal weapons and ammunition helps to ensure the safety of the communities we police.
