Hibernian Ladies lost 3-0 to Aberdeen at Heathryfold Park on Sunday.
Goals by Donna Paterson (2) and Rebecca Dempster secured the victory and afterwards Hibs boss Chris Roberts told the club website: “Firstly I would like to congratulate Aberdeen on their victory.
“They’re on a good run of form, have done absolutely fantastically well this season and it was always going to be difficult going there.
“They took their chances and then picked us off as we attempted to chase the game.
“From our point of view, we had more than enough chances to win the game however it wasn’t our day and they didn’t go in. On another day we could’ve been out of sight long before we conceded.
“Our performance, particularly in the first half, was as good a display as we could’ve had without scoring and that makes the defeat hard to take.
“The defeat is gutting and everyone is hurting – which shows how far we have come this season – but nothing has been lost and we must now pick ourselves up and go again.”
Hibernian: Fife, Smith, Brownlie, Hunter, Williamson, Robertson, Michie (Heron), Arthur, Harrison, Richards, Arnot. Substitutes: Johnstone, Cornet, Tweedie.
