Edinburgh’s dedicated housebreaking team have arrested and charged another person in connection with a number of offences as part of Operation RAC.
Between 12.15pm and 4.35pm yesterday officers received four reports of a male trying doors and windows of houses and cars in Clermiston Road, Meadow House Road and Roull Road.
A further report of a break-in and theft was also received from an address in Roull Grove.
Inquiries revealed each incident was linked and a man was detained on Ladywell Road before being charged with all of these offences.
The 38-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Chief Superintendent Mark Williams (pictured) said: “Operation RAC enforcement will continue as we look to identify and pursue those responsible for housebreaking in Edinburgh.
“Tackling housebreaking and associated crime is my top priority and with every arrest we make we send a clear message that offences of this nature will not be tolerated.
