Art Under the Bridge is an arts project that has involved pupils from several local primary schools.
The aim was to transform an unloved and defaced underpass in the otherwise beautiful Figgate Park in East Edinburgh that is known for its wildlife.
Ian Tayac a professional Graffiti artist born in France and living in Scotland has just finished this dramatic make over.
The Friends Group for the Figgate Park recently asked local school children what was special to them about their local Park and what they wanted to see painted under the road bridge that runs over the Figgate Burn in the Park. Pupils made art work that is currently being exhibited in two local libraries. Their artwork and ideas helped to inform and inspire professional artist Ian Tayac with his final design which has now transformed the underpass in the Figgate Park.
The response and feedback from park users has been fantastic and the Friends Group hope the project will continue to be a positive focus of conversation amongst park users in the park and in the local community.
Art Under the Bridge has been funded by the Duddingston & Craigentinny Neighbourhood Partnership Fund. You can read more here on the Figgate Facebook page.
