Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Gilmerton last month.
The incident happened around 10.45pm on Friday 17th April in Gilmerton Miners’ Club during a fundraising event.
The man was approached by two men in the Gents toilets and struck repeatedly to the face causing him severe injuries for which he needed hospital treatment.
Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.
Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien said: “We know the area was busy with people attending this function and some of them may have seen the men following the victim into the toilet.
“This was a vicious and unprovoked attack and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen these men or who have any information that can help us to trace them.”
Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
