Hibs’ Development squad midfielders Aaron Scott and Jordan Sinclair have both agreed contract extensions – keeping them at Easter Road until the summer of 2016.
Scotland under-17 internationalist Scott, 17 who joined the club in January told the club website: “I’m delighted to get the contract extension. I joined in January and my aim was to play well enough in order to earn a longer contract.
“So it’s a good feeling to get that extension secured and I feel everything has gone well so far.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given here at Hibernian – the squad and coaches have been great and I’m excited about the future.”
18 year-old Sinclair said: “The contract extension is exactly what I wanted and now I’m aiming to work hard and to continue my progress at the club.
“Seeing the likes of Scott Martin, Lewis Allan, Kleton Perntreou and Conner Duthie make their first team debuts this season has been brilliant and I would love to do the same.
“I know what’s required and hopefully if I can continue to learn, work hard and perform well then I will be given an opportunity to make an impact at first team level.
“Hibs are my local club and it’s a real privilege to play for the Development squad – I’m looking forward to the future.”
Development Coach Joe McBride said: “It’s always pleasing when players from the Development squad are given extensions to their contracts – it means they must be doing something right.
“Both Aaron and Jordan have progressed well this season, but they both realise what’s required of them in order to continue their development at Hibernian.
“They’ve been given conditioning programmes for the close season to ensure they develop physically.
“Some of their team-mates have already been given a chance at first team level, so there is a very clear goal for them to aim towards.”
Head Coach Alan Stubbs said: “This is more good news coming out of our Academy.
“There is a clear pathway through from the Academy to the first team squad and the incentives are there for players to seize their opportunities.
“As a club, it is important that we develop young players, who will contribute at first team level.
“We’ve already seen the likes of Scott Martin, Callum Crane, Lewis Allan and Aaron Dunsmore commit to contract extensions and it’s great to see both Aaron and Jordon do the same.
“Ensuring that all of our promising young players are on board is important for the future of this football club.”
