The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a curious cat who sat outside a library for seven hours.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted when the feline was spotted on a windowsill at the University of Edinburgh’s library in the city’s George Square.
The neutered male, who has been nicknamed Oscar, is now in the care of the Scottish SPCA’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Balerno.
Animal rescue officer Colin Arthur said, “I think Oscar is most likely a house cat who has escaped from home as he was really scared to be outdoors and hadn’t moved from his spot outside the library for seven hours.
“He is in very good condition and is a lovely, friendly boy.
“Hopefully someone will recognise Oscar and get in touch so we can reunite him with his family. If not we’ll find him a nice new home.”
Anyone who recognises Oscar is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA’s Edinburgh centre on 03000 999 999.
