Police Scotland is appealing for information following an incident when an elderly couple were injured by a dog in the north of Edinburgh.
The incident happened around 4pm on Friday (19 December)in the park at the junction of Boswall Parkway, Grierson Road and Boswall Drive. An elderly couple who were walking their dog were attacked by an unrestrained dog, accompanied by its female owner.
The couple, a 71 year-old man and 65 year-old woman, were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, but were released the same day.
The dog was described as male, tan-coloured pit bull type breed, with a strong muscular build and large head. It may have been wearing a leather harness.
The dog was accompanied by a woman, aged between 30 to 40, 5ft 5in tall, large build, with blonde hair and wearing a black parka style jacket.
PC Carolyn Cutter said: “This was an incredibly dangerous and terrifying incident and we are urgently seeking to trace the owner and the dog. We are appealing to anyone with information to call 101, asking to speak to PC Cutter at Drylaw Police Station quoting incident 474 of 19/12/2014.”
