Sir Chris and Hoy and his wife Sarra say they are shocked but delighted at the unexpectedly early arrival of their son Callum David Robert Hoy born yesterday.
The birth was announced on Twitter.

Callum is 11 weeks early and you can see just how tiny he is with this photo of the baby’s arm and someone (we presume Sir Chris’s) finger in the frame:
Although v.early days for wee Callum, he’s doing well as is @SarraHoy. Huge thanks to the incredible medical staff. pic.twitter.com/vP3pncp7WX

So many messages. @SarraHoy and I are blown away, thank you. Long way to go yet but Callum’s doing well.

Lady Sarra took to Twitter early this morning to thank all the wellwishers who had sent her messages.
Thanks also for sharing your success stories of premature babies, born at a similar time. It's helped me tremendously in the last 24 hours.
