policePolice Scotland can confirm the identity of a man whose body was discovered on a beach in Prestonpans at the weekend.

Scott Hamilton, who was 27 years-old and came from the Port Seaton area, was found by a dog walker at around 6.30am on Saturday 6th September.

His death is being treated as unexplained pending the result of a post mortem examination.

Police Scotland officers in East Lothian are trying to establish the full circumstances leading up to the discovery of Mr Hamilton’s remains.

Detective Superintendent Pat Campbell said: “We are keen to speak to members of the public who may have come into contact with Scott Hamilton or who saw him on the afternoon of Friday 5th September through to the discovery of his body the following morning. Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
