The funeral will be held on Monday for Big Issue vendor John White who passed away at the beginning of the month.
John was a well-known vendor who sold The Big Issue for six years in The Meadows and was known to many students and professionals who walked by him on the way to work.
There are now plans to raise a plaque in his memory in The Meadows.
His funeral will be held on Monday 29th September 2014 at 10:30am at Pentland Chapel, Mortonhall Crematorium.
A representative from the Big Issue office said: “We are asking that people wear red in memory of John. John requested that no flowers be sent so we have set up a donations page with The Big Issue Foundation. All donations will go towards a plaque in The Meadows in memory for John.
