Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses after a woman was racially abused onboard a bus.
The incident happened around 6.30pm on Wednesday 17 July 2013 on a Number 12 bus, which was on Princes Street heading towards the Gyle Shopping Centre.
The 28-year-old victim, who is originally from Pakistan, was sitting by herself when a woman began making racist and offensive comments towards her.
A number of passengers were on the bus at the time and it is believed they may have also heard these comments.
The suspect is described as white, between 40 and 50-years-old with a heavy build and short blonde shoulder-length bobbed hair. She was wearing a backless orange/pink dress and spoke with a Scottish accent.
A Police Scotland spokesman said:- “While she was uninjured, the victim was left very alarmed and distressed by the comments made to her.
“We are now keen to speak with other passengers who were on the bus and witnessed this incident take place.
“Similarly, anyone who recognises the suspect, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact police immediately.”
