A group of Santas were put through their paces at Meadowbank Stadium yesterday morning, to get them gold-medal ready for the tenth Great Edinburgh Santa Run, which takes place this Sunday 9 December.
The Great Edinburgh Santa Run turns the city centre into a sea of red and white, as volunteer Santas of all ages run, jog or walk their way around the 1.5km circuit of West Princes Street Gardens, to raise money for the When You Wish Upon a Star foundation. The funds raised from this appeal will be used to send children with life-threatening illnesses to Lapland this festive period.
Margaret Rowarth, Scotland Fundraising Manager for When You Wish Upon a Star said: “The Great Edinburgh Santa Run is a fantastic way to enjoy time with friends and family, and support a very deserving cause; granting the wishes of very brave and courageous children.”
On the day, registration is open from 9:00am, with an interactive warm up session at 10.00am in West Princes Street Gardens by the Ross Bandstand. The run itself starts at 11:00am.
