Hibs defender Lewis Miller believes that the players are ready for the Top 6 challenge following their 4-0 home victory over Dundee on Sunday afternoon.
That result means Hibs enter the final five games in third place, three points and a superior goal difference above fourth place Dundee United and fifth place Aberdeen,
St Mirren who finished the campaign in sixth place look too far behind to go any higher.
Goals from Rocky Bushiri, Kieron Bowie and Dwight Gayle ensured a comfortable win for David Gray’s side.
Miller was a standout performer as we kept another clean sheet and increased our unbeaten run in the league to 17 matches.
Speaking on the match to HibsTV Miller said: “It was perfect, great weather, the team is in a great place and we’re very clinical at the front and solid at the back.”
Miller found himself in uncharted territory on the left wing and provided a perfect cut back to Kieron Bowie who fired home the second goal of the day.
“I don’t know what I was doing there! I won the ball in the middle of the pitch and gave it to Jordan and I saw the space open up down the left and I got into a great position on the byline.
“Kieron was in a great position, exactly where a striker needs to be and it was a great finish.”
Hibs head into the split in fantastic form and will be looking to secure third place. Lewis is confident in the squad’s ability and is excited for the challenge ahead.
“The main thing is the mentality and belief in the squad. It hurts a little bit because if we didn’t go on that bad run who knows where we could’ve been but you can’t really think like that.
“We’re going up against the top 5 teams, it’s a challenge but it’s a challenge we’re ready for.”
