Emergency services and East Lothian Council have provided an update on last night’s fire in Musselburgh.
Officers say that some road closures remain in place in and the public are being advised to avoid the Eskmills Road and Station Road areas.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.30am on Tuesday, 11 March, 2025, we were made aware of the incident at a premises on Station Road.
“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire was extinguished. There are no reported injuries.
“Emergency services remain in attendance and the public is asked to avoid the area.
“Eskmills Road and Station Road remain closed and local residents and businesses should keep windows and doors closed.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “At its height, nine fire appliances were mobilised. The Scottish Fire and Resuce Service have since advised that the fire is now extinguished, with two appliances remaining at the scene, where firefighters are working to make the area safe.
“At this time, people in nearby homes and businesses are asked to keep windows and doors closed, as a precaution. East Lothian Council has been liaising with the emergency services and supporting as required.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently in attendance at a fire within a storage warehouse on Musselburgh’s Eskmills Road.
“Nine appliances are in attendance and people in nearby homes are asked to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke levels.”
