Capital kick boxing twins Freya and Arran Drever have set sights on adding to recent successes at February’s British Championships and beyond after ending the 2024 season in style.

The 12-year-old siblings from Wolfpack Martial Arts Club, Granton, followed up world championship glory with more medals at the Bristol International Open, the biggest competition of its kind in the UK.

Freya brought back three gold medals, including one from the higher age-group in which she will be competing next year, while Arran was on the podium three times as a silver medallist.

Competition in Bristol was strong with competitors coming from America, Canada, Greece, Ireland and Italy as well as throughout the UK.

Wolfpack, while indicating they do not normally single out individual members for special mention, paid tribute to Freya’s golden tournament on their social media.

“…fresh off the bat from winning her first ever WORLD title, Freya stepped it up again at the recent Bristol Open and managed to win her older age category which she will be moving into next year.

“She took on some fierce and strong opponents however did us all proud in how she conducted herself and remained solid under pressure.

“So from the team at Wolfpack, well done Freya and let’s keep this going into next year.”

Also a target for the Broughton HS students next year will be selection for European Championships.
