The second tier knock out competition was decided on the Duckworth/Lewis method for arbitrating on rain-ruined matches after Penicuik had set a target of 199 all out.

In the D/L reply Gordonians reached 112-5 from 29 overs which was 23 runs short of the required amount.

Batting for Penicuik Calum Steel hit 81 ably supported by Ricky Davidson’s knock of 65.

Bowler Ollie Picken did most to ensure the trophy ended up at Kirkhill with 3-28 off eight overs.

To reach the final Penicuik defeated sides from around the country – Hillhead (h), Strathmore (a) holders Morton (h) and Edinburgh Accies (h). It was the first team Penicuik had appeared in a national final since the 2008 Scottish Cup.
