There may be a familiar face in the Kelty Hearts line up for Hibs supporters making the trip to Fife for the League Cup group stage match on 20th July. 

Fans’ favourite Scott Allan has signed for the New Central Park outfit and in addition to his playing duties he will also take up a coaching role. 

Signed initially by Alan Stubbs he made his debut in a Challenge Cup defeat to Rangers in August 2014. 

He later joined Celtic but returned to Hibs under Neil Lennon. 

Allan played games 129 games for Hibs scoring 17-goals and was a team mate of head coach David Gray. 

The 32-year-old midfielder has been out of contract after leaving Arbroath earlier this summer.  

He spent last season on loan with Northern Irish champions Larne,   

A club statement read: “We are delighted to welcome Scott Allan as Michael Tidser’s latest addition ahead of the new season. 

“The experienced midfielder, who counts Dundee United, West Brom, Hibs and Celtic amongst his former clubs, joins us at New Central Park having picked up a Northern Ireland Championship medal with Larne last season whilst on loan from Arbroath.  

“Scott will also be assisting as part of the coaching team in his role at the club.” 

John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
