Elite League: Belfast 7, Fife 4; Glasgow 9, Nottingham 3; Coventry 1, Dundee 2; Cardiff 4, Sheffield 1; Manchester 4, Guildford 1

Glasgow Clan did Fife Flyers a big favour with their convincing 9-3 victory over Nottingham at Braehead thanks to a commanding second period of 4-0. Philipe Sanche, Matt Barry and captain Dyson Stevenson all claimed doubles.

Fife lost 3-2 to Manchester after penalty shots on Friday at Kirkcaldy and are three points ahead of Nottingham but have played 44 matches and the Fifers lost 7-4 in Belfast, who are third, in front of a crowd in excess of 7,200.

Kohei Sato netted a treble for the home side who are sponsored by Stena Line and Giants outshot Fife 36-14.

There was a shock at the top end of the table when second-placed Cardiff beat long-time pace-setters Sheffield 4-1 while Dundee edged Coventry on the road, Ryan Valenti scoring the winner less than nine minutes from time.
