Fife Flyers earned a point after a shootout defeat against Belfast Giants at Kirkcaldy but the Scots let slip a 2-1 lead with less than eight minutes of regular time left.

Giants opened the scoring after 32 minutes but 19 seconds later Fife levelled. The Kirkcaldy club edged ahead 2min 18sec into the third but Giants equalised at 52min 40sec and the scoreline stayed that way until the end of regular time and overtime.

Meanwhile, Dundee Stars stunned Glasgow Clan at Braehead, coming from 2-1 down at the end of the second to take the win with three goals in the final 20 minutes to silence the crowd of over 3,500.

Fife are bottom with Dundee climbing to eighth while Clan slip to seventh and Belfast move up to third and the next fixtures are on Tuesday when Clan entertain Belfast (17.00) and Fife host Dundee, also 17.00.
