Screen Scotland bursaries
If you would like to be a part of one of the most prestigious media events of the year, then in partnership with Edinburgh TV Festival, Screen Scotland is offering 10 bursaries to Scottish independent production companies to attend this year’s festival which takes place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) from 22 to 25 August 2022. The deadline for applications is 3pm on 20 June 2023. This offer is open to Scotland-based producers and independent production companies only, with at least two broadcast credits.

Tonight’s the night
On the last Thursday of each month, Bonnie & Wild at St James Quarter hold a ceilidh. And that is tonight.
The White Heather Club will have you birling round the floor to the music provided by Charlie Kilpatrick and his Band. The dances will be chosen from those which are relatively easy to learn such as the Dashing White Sergeant and the Strip the Willow. Book a free ticket before you go along. Anyone for Croquet?
The Meadows Croquet Club are holding an Open Day on 27 May between 1.00pm and 4.00pm when there will be seasoned players on hand to show beginners the ropes. A spokesperson for the club said: “It is great fun and a game for all ages. It’s also an opportunity to find out what’s behind the hedge. “
The club has around 100 members and has been on its present site for more than 20 years. They have three full-size lawns and they provide all the equipment. They play association croquet and golf croquet. Find out more on their website here.
Gala on Saturday
Something for the weekend (when the weather is supposed to be reasonable) – the Newhaven Gala takes place on Saturday with the Gala Queen and Fisher King Procession.
