The second round of fixtures in this season’s Betfred League Cup group stages were played this weekend.
The winners of each group and four best runner-up will qualify for the last 16 along with Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Motherwell.
A full round up is as follows.
Group A
Hearts defeated Cowdenbeath 1-0 in a game played at Bayview while Raith Rovers beat East Fife 2-1 at Stark’s Park.
Group B
Hibernian hit back to beat Cove Rangers 2-1 at the Balmoral Stadium while Dundee triumphed 2-0 at Highland League Brora Rangers.
Group C
Stevie May grabbed a hat-trick as St Johnstone thrashed Brechin City 7-0 at McDiarmid Park and Peterhead shocked Dundee United at Tannadice – Jim McInally’s men won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Steven Boyd.
Group D
Arbroath saw off local rivals Montrose 3-1 at Gayfield and Elgin City defeated Stirling Albion 2-0 at Borough Briggs.
Group E
Clyde beat Dumbarton 3-2 at Broadwood, with Dunfermline having claimed a 2-0 victory over Falkirk at East End Park on Friday night.
Group F
Hamilton Accies were 2-1 winners over Ayr United at the Foys Stadium while Annan Athletic and Stranraer drew 1-1 at Galabank, with the visitors picking up the bonus point in the shoot-out.
Group G
St Mirren recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Queen of the South at Palmerston. Saints then won the penalties 4-2. Partick Thistle beat Queen’s Park 2-0 at Firhill in the other fixture.
Group H
Livingston came from behind to beat Alloa Athletic 2-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena while Edinburgh City and Stenhousemuir drew 2-2 at Ainslie Park, with the visitors winning the shoot-out.
